Fun Saturday...

Saturday my bestie and I decided to go for a nice hike in Malibu. It was so nice not doing my normal routine at the gym and getting out by the beach!

This was about 1/2 a mile up the road. So pretty. After we walked about 1.5 miles up and down hills we came to the start of it.

We even crossed a few streams.

I kept joking that I was afraid we were going to see a bear or mountain lion, and then we came across a few paths like this.

But it was from some dogs! :)

It was such a beautiful day out that D stopped for a photo opp!

We were almost to the end. Just a few more hills.

Then the waterfall!

A few more times.

The we thought it was a good idea to try to climb to the top of it.

But the dirt was really loose, so we decided we didn't want to die!

Also, there were these bugs everywhere! Do you know what kind it is? They looked pretty cool! It's the blue thing in the middle of the picture.

So if you are ever out in that area, you should check it out! This is what you see after you leave the 'woods'.

Weeked recap...

I need to start this off by saying, Yes I am a dork and did see Harry Potter at midnight! And I've seen most of the HP's at midnight showings! It all started before any heard of him, and my mom bought me the first few books and I started reading them and loved them! But I never did finish reading the books, but still enjoyed the movies!  Since my niece's are off of school for Summer, and they always BEG me to take them to midnight showings, I took them! We were joined by their mom and aunt (who is between the ages of my nieces).  Only my SIL and youngest niece fell asleep! But we still had fun!

Friday night in my brother community had a movie in the park. It was Megamind! I love that cartoon! I think it is super funny! We had fun, but why was it so cold? I thought it's summer?! But my niece did have a run in with some mean cheerleaders, but handled her own and I loved every minute of it. Calling the cheerleader "shorty-shorts"! It was super funny!

Saturday night I ended up watching my niece's so their parents could have a little date night. And on my way home that night, my youngest niece had me in tears. Good tears. She sent me a text saying that she saw something that reminded her of me and wants to get it, but it's going to cost her 5 month allowance, but my birthday is in 4 months. She asked if it was ok to get it for me late! How sweet is that?! I did the math and it was about $300!!! I told not to spend that kind of money on me, but she was being super sweet! And told me that her mom might think she likes me more if she spent more money on my gift, then her mom's! :)

Well Sunday I went to Church with my friend Erika. Wow! It's been a long time since I've been there, but happy that I went back and am going to start going back. After that, we had a BBQ at my parent's house for my SIL's birthday. It was fun! I love that her family is my family!
But how cute is this? I love when they get along, since they fight so much!

Well Monday was the SIL's birthday. She wanted to go the Glen Ivy, and even though I wasn't feeling the greatest, I went with her. We had fun!
We played in the mud.
We used Glen Ivy for our personal photo shoot!
We had fun!
But I did find a must have! I don't know why I don't have one of these yet!? But maybe not to this extreme!
It was such a huge hat that it kept falling over my eyes! But I want one!

They are actually happy to take picture's! That's rare from Alyssa!

After the spa we went to dinner at Sevilla's. Yum! The niece's didn't go :( Their bio dad actually came into town and took them to dinner.

Another melt my heart moment happened after dinner when my youngest niece didn't want to spend time with her bio dad and cried and cuddled on my lap. I hate that they are growing up, but when they act like little kids it makes me forget that!

Well, I'm still not feeling well and hope it passes soon. And anyways, how was your weekend? Did you have fun? Do anything special?

10 things that made me happy this week..

1. Good laughs with some good people!

2.  Making room in my day to get to the gym. I normally let my RA get the better of me and use it as an excuse not to be active, but I'm no longer making that excuse!

3. My nephew! He's just getting so big now! And knowing that when my life seems crazy, I just look at his face, and i smile.

4.  Free things! I won a $25 gift card to a local restaurant on FB and daily deals for freebies!

5. Friends! When I sit there and tell people how much of a loser my ex left me feeling, prove to me that it's not true and things will get better.

6.  My family. I think they are pretty amazing and I also think mine is better then yours! Sorry, but I do!

7.  Eating more fruits and veggies and how that makes me feel a lot better!

8.  The new changes happening in my friends lives. I know it's scary, but everything is going to work out for the better!

9. Rescue Me being back on the air, even if it is the final season. The only good thing my ex did was hook me on this show! Super funny!

10.  Reading some great post on Twitter that just seem perfect!

"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. All Scorpio's experience a type of death/rebirth that makes them wiser/stronger"
"Never go back to your ex. It's like reading the same book over and over again when you know how the story ends"
"Anyone can catch your eye, but it takes someone special to catch your heart."
"Find the guy that can make you forget you ever had a broken heart"
"Boys will break your heart, but men will pick up the pieces."
"I don't miss you. I miss who I thought you were."

Is there something in the water?

A few months ago, it seemed like the water was full of pregnancy germs and everyone around me was getting preggo. Now it seems like some men are drinking a new water which is turning them into DB's and ending some of the best things in their life! I honestly don't understand it!

Ok, I just needed to get that off my chest.  And I'm not saying all guys are this way, and I'm jealous of all you girls out there who have found the one's that aren't!

But I got to go to the Angel game the day before the 4th, and to my surprise, after the game was a celebrity all-star game and a home run derby featuring my all time favorite Angel, Tim Salmon! So there he is, first in line! I only had my cell phone so the pic isn't that good!
Well on the 4th, I got to hang out with this cutie
I bought those swim trunks the day I found out that they were having a boy.
But that night, we set up our fire pit on the driveway, roasted marshmallows, and watched the fireworks.

But I promise that I'm going to get better at this!

It's crazy how much happens in a year, and how much your life can change it that period of time. A year ago yesterday, I was admitted into the hospital with acute renal failure and they thought I was septic. I take you back a few days before this happened. About a week or more before, I was having this weird stomach pain and had no clue what it was, so I just tried to do my best to forget about it. Well I worked Monday night, and on my way home, my lower back started to hurt and I knew I had a kidney infection. So I called my work that night to call in sick for my next shift and by the time I got home I had a fever. The next morning(Tuesday) I got an appointment to see a doctor and they told me I only had a bladder infection, gave me antibiotics, and sent me on my way. By that night I still had 100+ fever and couldn't hold anything down. The same thing happened the next day. So by Thursday, I still had the same symptoms and called the doctor back and asked for a different medicine or something and they told me to give it time.

Friday was a little better, I was able to get my fever down, but that was it. So I told my mom I needed to go to the hospital, after the past few days of her wanting to take me, she told me to wait a little bit longer. I did, but nothing changed. My mom works at Kaiser and doesn't really trust any other place, she told me I can only go there or to Hoag in Newport. Kaiser was closer. When I got there they told me my kidney's were going into failure, I could be septic, and I was dehydrated. They admitted me into the hospital that night, July 2nd.

The next morning, the doctor told me if my labs came back better, he'd release me on the 4th. Well my family loves any reason to get together and BBQ and swim. And now the city moved the firework show to a park next to the house. So we sit on our driveway, have a little bonfire to roast marshmallows, and watch the crazy people trying to get to the park or find a parking spot firework show. But at this time, my mom wanted to cancel the whole BBQ and I wouldn't let her. And I was hoping to be released. But that evening, my fever came back! :( But somehow luck was on my side, since I woke up on the 4th feeling soo much better! And was able to go home, only 10lbs heavier from ALL the liquid they pumped into me!

It's just crazy how much my life has changed since then.

Well, my brother dropped of his dogs for us to watch for a few days.
Meet Penny
 And Roscoe
I love Roscoe, but I'm super allergic to Penny! And she does not take NO for an answer!

But I hope you have an amazing 4th! And be safe!
